My client is revolutionizing the global metals industry by building the first comprehensive online marketplace connecting high-performance metal suppliers and buyers. The platform eliminates inefficiencies, brings transparency to pricing, and enables seamless transactions across a traditionally fragmented sector.

They've built a robust product currently being tested with selected partners and are preparing to launch within the next few months. Backed by an experienced angel investor, they are positioned to reshape how the worlds metals are traded.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a CEO to lead the launch and commercial scale-up of this new venture. This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a marketplace from the ground up, driving commercial traction, building supply and demand, and executing a successful market launch.

This role is suited to a handson, commercially driven leader who thrives in 01 environments and enjoys building structure, relationships, and revenue in fastmoving, ambiguous settings.

The ideal person will have a proven background in marketplace growth, business development, or B2B sales and will be motivated by the chance to build a categorydefining business.

Core Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the companys vision, go-to-market plan, and commercial roadmap
• Lead the 01 launch of the marketplace and drive early liquidity
• Identify, attract, and onboard both suppliers and buyers to the platform
• Develop and execute sales and business development strategies to drive adoption and revenue
• Build foundational relationships with key suppliers, distributors, and enterprise buyers
• Lead commercial negotiations and partnership discussions
• Establish and embed a culture of accountability, pace, and commercial focus
• Build and manage the early team required to execute launch and growth plans

Required Experience

• Proven track record in business development, sales, or commercial leadership
• Experience launching or scaling a marketplace or B2B platform
• Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, supply/demand acquisition, and growth models
• Handson startup experience with a bias for action and results

Preferred Experience

• Background in metals, materials, industrial supply chain, or related B2B industries
• Experience working in a venturebacked or highgrowth environment
