Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to safely and efficiently operate straddle carriers, cranes, and large forklifts to move oversized and heavy equipment within our facility. The operator will be responsible for ensuring safe handling, transport, and placement of critical components while following company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate straddle carriers to transport large modules, containers, or heavy equipment across designated work areas.
  • Safely maneuver and operate cranes to lift, move, and position oversized loads in alignment with production and logistics requirements.
  • Use large-capacity forklifts to load, unload, and relocate equipment and materials.
  • Conduct pre-operation inspections on all equipment to ensure functionality, safety, and compliance with standards.
  • Follow load charts, weight limits, and rigging requirements to prevent accidents or equipment damage.
  • Work closely with ground crews, riggers, and supervisors to coordinate safe lifting and transport activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment use, movement logs, and safety checks.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, damage, or safety concerns immediately.
  • Adhere to OSHA, company, and site-specific safety regulations at all times.
  • Support general yard, warehouse, or logistics activities as needed.
Minimum Requirments:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a certified trade program in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or a related technical field preferred.Minimum of 4 years of experience operating straddle carriers, cranes, and heavy-capacity forklifts (certifications preferred).
  • Knowledge of rigging, load charts, and safe lifting practices.
  • Valid heavy equipment operator certification and/or crane license, as applicable.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety requirements, including OSHA standards.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols per internal HSE policies (lifting, permitting, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret load charts, work orders, and basic technical documents.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with ground crews and supervisors.
  • Strong attention to detail and situational awareness.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborative team player with good interpersonal skills and a cooperative mindset.
  • Highly adaptable to shifting priorities and capable of seamless task switching.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
